MORE Than Ready For NOLA!

I'm not even sure what we did the last few days. Not much...that much I can tell you. We did finally get to Brownell Memorial Park for a hike on their "hiking trails". It was about 200 yards long and led to the Bell Tower. I was exhausted...not! Yesterday we drove to Pierre Part and planned on having dinner at The Rainbow Inn, Troy Landry's favorite hangout. It was closed. We did get to see where Troy brings his 'gators and the Pierre Part Store, where he shops.

After returning to Morgan City we had dinner at JoJo's which is the BEST restaurant around. It was....nice. Cute area down by the wharf, decent food, and a waitress with a few remaining teeth!

Today we returned to Houma to go to the Southern Louisiana RV and Sport Show. Two reasons....Glenn and Mitchell! I pictured mobs of people around them but that was not the case. Maybe these folks are used to Swamp People Celebrities in their midst. The Geist Brothers were sweet and posed for pictures for me. I guess we had a conversation but I couldn't really understand a word they said! Kind of smelled too!

We also saw Joe and Tommy but I am not really a huge fan of either so we snapped a pic and moved on...

We had an enjoyable afternoon touring the RV's and dreaming of the $695,000 Class A that was just PERFECT!!! Yes, that is the correct sale price. Can't even imagine spending that on a house much less an RV?
The weather has remained very cool (hard freeze last two nights...27) but days are sunny and pleasantly warm (50's). I have been sleeping very poorly and getting up at 5-6 a.m. consistently. Getting pretty sunrise's though.

These are unretouched photo's, by the way. Really, really pretty sunrises! We also have gotten a few bike rides in. There is a colony of black squirrels here at the park. Both the blacks and the browns are unbelievably acclimated to humans and I swear, they would have crawled right up my leg if I had let them.

Whatcha got for me?

Tonight we are eating Chicken Ceasar and watching the Saints...unfortunately looks dismal for them. But we have to root for them anyway, seeing as how we will be in NO tomorrow! We are soooo ready. Not that this park isn't wonderful and the area pretty but....not much to do. Take pics of wildlife and eat (which we are both adamantly trying NOT to do)

Last but not least...during the last few months we have seen the names of almost everyone we know and love in a store name, street name, town name, bar name. Today we added one more to our long list of names that show up and make us happy...

Spelled slightly different but lovely to see just the same.
Love you, Miss Amilia!!!
