When I woke up this morning to a snow covered campground (and truck/RV) I was truly motivated to get the hell outta there! I actually leaped in the shower, got dressed and started the securement process by 0700. Jeff was pretty motivated himself and quickly began his break-down chores as well. We were ready to roll then...problem. We couldn't put the slide in. Too much snow on the "roof" which has to slide in , of course.
Jeff had to precariously climb onto the roof to sweep off the slides. And he thought he wouldn't have to shovel this year! HA!
Problem solved and no broken bones or head injuries. So we hit the road again and a short ways down the road, Jeff mentions the tire pressure (on one of the RV's tires) was once again low and that there was probably a nail in the tire. Now I am somewhat of a Nervous Nellie driving in snow, much less driving in snow pulling 18,000 pounds of trailer with a bad tire. I actually thought I was going to throw up about then.
At a point shortly after this photo, there was an incident that appeared to be a rolled over ambulance, being tended to by several Troopers. But, we made it to Rexburg and found the nicest people at a large GMC dealership who promptly fixed the tire (for $16.49....I thought they must have meant $60.49, but no!) Yes, there was in fact a nail in the tire.
Back on the road about noon, we pretty much high-tailed it west. The speed limit on the interstates here is 75 and Jeff pushed the BB to the limit, which was about 70. We motored west and arrived in Nampa, just west of Boise, about 6:00. Found an RV park that would do, and made yummy Roast Beef Hash from our leftovers. The temp is now a balmy 60 degrees, no snow in sight (except maybe extreme mountain tops). Now, wine, Deadliest Catch and bed. Tommorrow the BB will get the over-due oil change and we will explore Boise.
