The Road to Idaho!

These "travel" days are getting old, quickly. Spending the last four nights and three days not in transit was wonderful. Though, truth was, we were excited to see new things and very excited to see the Tetons. The road here (Tetonia, Idaho) was ROUGH. Just after Dubois, Wyoming there was a huge amount of road construction. Now this is right where the very mountainous Tetons begin. Not only were there several very long delays, but we actually had to travel on wet, dirt road for a good chunk of the pass between Dubois and Jackson, Wyoming. Remember how we buffed and puffed the BB just last night. well here's the outcome of our travels today...
Jeff is completely disgusted and is positively freaking out. He even attempted to get the BB AND the BP into a carwash in Jackson. That made me freak out and the mission came to an abrubt (and loud) halt.
From Jackson, we actually opted to take a southern and longer route to Tetonia to avoid a 10% grade on the pass that is more direct. I think that was wise as the 5-7% grades we encountered were quite bad enough. All in all the 4 hour trip took us about 6, so not too horrible. We are now settled in at Grand Teton Mountain RV Park and it is very nice, with great "backyard" views...

On a more positive note, the drive here was stunning. It is so fun to finally see the magestic Tetons and thier snow capped peaks. Idaho is seriously gorgeous. Really,  the prettiest tress, rivers, peaks... and homes that we have seen on the trip. Potatoes must be one hell of a money making crop because there is clearly some money in the area. And every house seems to have a paddock with a herd of beautiful horses. Nice!

Tommorrow we will be able to get back into the Tetons (and Jackson) and really see some sites. The following day will be Yellowstone. The weather report for the next few days is rain and snow (in the peaks) so we'll have to play that one by ear.
